Thermocouple Cables:
Thermocouple Extension and Compensating Cables are used in conjunction with thermocouples and temperature sensing and/or measuring equipment. Extension cables are used where there is a need to extend the run of a thermocouple to allow termination within a panel or junction box. As this normally tends to involve more than one thermocouple, the cables are often of multi-pair construction. Compensating cables are used when the distances between the thermocouple and junction are significant. Here it is common practice to use interconnecting cables whose conductors have like characteristics (similar EMF values) but over a less extensive temperature range. Constructions are therefore similar to extension cables.
